‘House of Cards’ returning for season 3

Get ready for more “House of Cards.”

Netflix has renewed the political thriller for a third season ahead of its Season Two premiere on Feb. 14, a rep for the streaming service confirms.

Season Three will again consist of 13 episodes. The drama starring Kevin Spacey and Robin Wright was initially given a two-season, 26-episode pickup, though Netflix said last October that it was interested in continuing the series beyond that.

“House of Cards” recently won a Golden Globe award – Netflix’s first — for Wright’s portrayal of Claire Underwood, the icy wife of scheming congressman Francis Underwood (Spacey).

It’s notable for being the first original Netflix series and has since been joined by originals including “Orange Is the New Black” and “Hemlock Grove,” both renewed for second seasons, and the revival of “Arrested Development.”
