Jared Kushner’s East Village shopping spree

Jared Kushner has dropped $128 million in cash on a 17-building real estate package in the East Village.

Kushner, who is married to Ivanka Trump and also publishes the New York Observer, bought the all walk-up portfolio that includes 267 units and 23 stores on Thursday.

One of them is the site of the former Mexican restaurant Diablo Royale Este at 165-167 Ave. A, which brought area noise complaints over its late-night garden dining.

The other buildings include: 129 1st Ave., 143 1st Ave., 191-193 Ave. A, 201 East 2nd, 211 Ave. A, 23 Ave. A, 338-340 E. 11th St., 435 E. 12th St., 500 E. 11th St., 504-508 E. 12th St. and 516-518 E. 13th St.

About 70 percent of the units are at market rents with a portfolio average of more than $2,300 in rent per month, said investment broker Aaron Jungreis, president of Rosewood Realty Group, which handled the transaction.

The institutional fund venture of Westbrook Partners, Normandy Partners and Ben Shaoul of Magnum Real Estate, which also managed the properties, did not have year-end tax issues like those of some private investors who fueled the fast and furious market in late 2012, said Jungreis.

Kushner Co. has an affiliate, Westminster Management, which specializes in Manhattan walk-ups.

Last year, Kushner Cos. bought 11,000 apartments across the country for a total of 20,000 units.
