NBA: LeBron not bothered salary isn’t highest

LeBron James said there’s one title he’s not worried about holding — NBA’s biggest salary.

“It doesn’t matter to me being the highest-paid player in the league,” the Heat star said before last night’s 102-89 loss to the Pacers in Indianapolis. “I think my value shows on the floor.”

James, who had 28 points, and teammates Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh can opt out next year. James said money will not dictate his plans.

“I’ve not had a max contract yet, it’s a story that’s been untold,” he said. “I don’t get

for it. But that doesn’t matter to me. Playing the game matters to me.”

NBA players put union chief Billy Hunter on an indefinite leave yesterday, two weeks after a report they commissioned questioned Hunter’s leadership and criticized him for bad decisions and questionable business practices.
