House where Bruce Springsteen wrote ‘Born To Run’ for sale

LONG BRANCH, NJ — For about $350,000, some lucky home-buyer can purchase a slice of New Jersey’s music history.

The Asbury Park Press reports the two-bedroom cottage in Long Branch where Bruce Springsteen wrote the classic rock anthem “Born To Run” is on the market.

Real estate agent Susan McLaughlin tells the newspaper the five-room residence has three owners but only one of them lives there. She says the other two would be willing to sell a one-third share in the house.

McLaughlin says buses of tourists stop by the house “all the time.”

Springsteen rented the cottage in 1974 and ’75 when he wrote the music for his seminal “Born To Run” album that features the title song as well as songs such as “Jungleland” and “Tenth Avenue Freeze Out.”
