‘Live with Kelly and Michael’ up in ‘down’ week

OK, yes, the week of Dec. 29 was a holiday week, traditionally a down time vis a vis TV ratings.

That caveat notwithstanding, “Live with Kelly and Michael” had a particularly strong showing, finishing as TV’s top-rated daytime talk show that week (4.2 million viewers) with its best showing since 2011, beating usual daytime winner “Dr. Phil” by 1 million viewers. The fact that “Live” (Kelly Ripa, Michael Strahan) did this with pre-taped shows and reruns? Well, that’s even more impressive. The show was also tops in women 25-54, the “money” demo in daytime.
