Former Jets GM Tannenbaum now an agent

Mike Tannenbaum is going over to the other side.

The former Jets general manager is becoming an agent after being hired by Chicago-based Priority Sports & Entertainment to head up its new division for coaches, team executives and broadcasters.

Fired in January after the Jets finished 6-10 and missed the playoffs for the second year in a row, Tannenbaum become an agent rather than try to catch on with another NFL team in part because Priority will let him work out of its New York office.

Tannenbaum’s primary job will be to oversee contract negotiations for football and basketball coaches on both the pro and college levels.

“For us to be able to add an executive of the caliber of Mike Tannenbaum is an absolute home run for our company and our clients,” said Priority Sports CEO Mark Bartelstein.
