Off-duty cop killed while driving home from work

An off-duty rookie cop was killed driving home from work early today, police sources said.

Officer Patrick Prince, 22, was headed to his Brooklyn home in a late-model Nissan car on Kings Highway when he hit a tree in East Flatbush between Beverly Road and Tilden Avenue, sources said.

EMS rushed him to Brookdale Hospital, but he could not be revived.

The officer was part of Operation Impact, sources added.

His name was not released pending family notification.
