Fake psychologist known as ‘The Happy Hippy’ caught selling pot to undercover cops

A $150-an-hour fake psychologist – who called himself “The Happy Hippy’’ and sold pot to undercover cops posing as patients – has been busted on Long Island, authorities said.

Adam Goldrusso, 45, of Huntington, was charged with selling dope and with posing as a psychologist, said Suffolk County DA Tom Spota.

“This defendant is a drug dealer posing as a neuropsychologist, a fraud who conned people who believed they were sharing their problems with a licensed professional,” said Spota.

Spota said Goldrusso last month sold an undercover couple a total of a pound and a half of marijuana for $7,600.

The DA said Goldrusso got the weed from a supplier who works for the highway department of the Town of Oyster Bay, Michael Scappaticci, 44 – who was also charged with selling pot.

Scappaticci, of Melville, told the undercover officers that Goldrusso “calls himself the Happy Hippie,’ ’’ a source said.

Spota said Goldrusso had apparently been “treating’’ patients for years, even though he is unlicensed.
