Dollar-van crash chase

A career criminal driving a dollar van in Brooklyn allegedly plowed into an NYPD scooter and sped off — leading cops on a dangerous chase, sources said yesterday.

Police first tried to stop Antonio Moise, 26 — who has 23 prior arrests, including a February one for fleeing cops — at about 7:15 p.m. Tuesday near Lincoln Terrace Park in Crown Heights when they noticed his van-for-hire had no front license plate.

An officer approached Moise’s window but he refused to pull over.

The van went into reverse, crushing a police scooter and forcing a sergeant to “jump off to save his life,” a source said.

Moise, who had was carrying about three passengers, sped off the wrong way down Utica Avenue and led cops on a 15-minute chase through Brooklyn. He was being held last night at Rikers Island in lieu of $10,000 bail on charges of attempted assault of a police officer, resisting arrest and fleeing police.
