Steenkamp gave Valentine to Pistorius on day of murder

Oscar Pistorius’ slain girlfriend professed her love for the Olympian on the day he blew away the pretty model, according to testimony in a South African court on Tuesday.

In perhaps the final words Reeva Steenkamp ever wrote, she gave Pistorius a Valentine’s Day card, which the Blade Runner read out loud at his murder trial.

“Roses are red, violets are blue,” the card begins.

“I think today is a good day to tell you that … I love you,” Steenkamp concluded in her handwriting.

She signed it “Reeves,” with a smiling face and three Xs.

The love note could be a key piece of defense evidence as Pistorius fights murder charges, stemming from the Feb. 14, 2013, shooting inside his Pretoria home.

The prosecution insists Pistorius shot Steenkamp after they argued. The defense claims Pistorius fired on Steenkamp after mistaking her for an intruder.

A withering, five-day cross-examination of Pistorius finally ended on Tuesday with a prosecutor firing sarcastic parting shots at the once-beloved Olympian.

Pitbull prosecutor Gerrie Nel taunted Pistorius and rhetorically asked why anyone else but the defendant should be blamed for Steenkamp’s violent death.

“We should blame somebody … should we blame Reeva?” Nel asked.

“No, my lady,” Pistorius said, addressing Pretoria Judge Thokozile Masipa, who will decide his fate.

Steenkamp was fatally shot as she cowered inside a locked bathroom.

“She never told you she was going to the toilet,” Nel said. “Should we blame the government?”
