WGN America, which is making a big push to ramp up its programming slate, has snared the rights to air reruns of “Elementary,” the hit CBS series starring Jonny Lee Miller and Lucy Liu. It will air each season of the series after it’s completed its run on CBS. It’s undetermined when the first batch of “Elementary” episodes are slated to begin airing on WGN America.
The “Elementary” announcement follows on the heels of the network’s push for “Salem,” its first original, scripted series premiering April 20 with stars Shane West, Janet Montgomery, Seth Gabel, Ashley Madekwe and Tamzin Merchant (it’s centered around the infamous 17th Salem with trials). WGN America owner Tribune will promote “Salem” on its Fox-owned stations during Sunday’s Super Bowl pre-game shows. WGN America is available in New York City on Time Warner Cable, DirecTV, Dish and FiOS.
