The El Rancho Hotel & Motel in Gallup, NM is still a popular stopover for Route 66 nostalgia travelers; it was built in the 1930’s and once hosted luminaries ranging from Katherine Hepburn to Kirk Douglas.

Richardson’s empire sprawls across numerous storefronts in downtown Gallup. The owner, Bill Richardson, is not the same Bill Richardson that is currently the Governor of New Mexico.
