While he was gone — everything de Blasio missed in New York

Welcome back from your four-day trip, Mr. Mayor. We missed you — but apparently the feeling isn’t mutual.

You were too busy swooning over San Francisco, calling it “a wonderful, progressive town.”

And before that liberal lovefest, you kvelled about Washington, DC, proclaiming it “where the resources are.”

What are we — chopped liver?

We get it. You’ve been feeling a smidge underappreciated here lately.

But didn’t you get that off your chest when you whined to Rolling Stone that “a lot of people outside New York City understand” your accomplishments better than actual New Yorkers?

No, apparently you still need to go gallivanting around the country on a “progressive national tour.”

Look, we’re not clingy. We can handle four days without seeing you.

It’s not like the city’s top boss was needed around here this week or anything.

There was only violence on the streets, chaos in homeless shelters and trouble in schools to deal with.

Oh, and a spike in shootings, a deadly derailment of a city-bound Amtrak train, and a hammer-wielding madman on a rampage.

So, in case you’re curious, here’s what you missed while you were away.

  • 13 shootings
  • 5 murders
  • 1 police officer attacked by a hammer-wielding madman
  • 1 NYC funeral for an amtrak crash victim
  • State withholding funds for homeless shelters because of “persistent violations”
  • 1 dramatic game 7 overtime playoff win by the Rangers
