Missed the biggest night in television this summer? Don’t worry – “Sharknado” is back, and it’s bigger than ever.
The Syfy cult hit will tear its way into movie theaters for one night only next Friday, August 2nd. Fathom Events will present the awful-some disaster flick at more than 200 theaters, including here in NYC at Regal’s Union Square Stadium 14 (850 Broadway).
The special event, to be held at 12:05 a.m., features never-before-seen footage, including a behind-the-scenes segment and a gag reel.
“Sharknado” premiered July 11 and sparked a national conversation about shark-filled tornadoes, racking up nearly 5,000 tweets per minute on Twitter. Starring superstars Ian Ziering (“90210”) and Tara Reid (“American Pie”), the B-movie earned 1.4 million viewers in its first airing. An NYC-based sequel is in the works for 2014.
