Elvis’ catalog bids could draw over $100M

Core Media Group’s Elvis Presley assets and its Muhammad Ali trademarks are expected to be sold within the next week, sources told The Post.

Bids were due today for the so-called “Project Blue Moon,” assets which include a half interest in Elvis’ music publishing catalogue.

It’s home to some of The King’s biggest hits such as: “Can’t Help Falling in Love.”

The catalogue has annual net publishing revenue of $6 million, according to those involved in the sale.

Graceland and Elvis’ clothes, cars and his airplane are also part of the collection expected to fetch upwards of $100 million, sources close to the auction say.

Core Media’s rights to the Muhammad Ali name and likeness are also part of the deal.

Martin Bandier’s music publishing company, Sony-ATV and David Schulof’s G2 Investment Group are working on a joint bid for the assets. Other bidders are believed to be fashion house Iconix Group, which markets Madonna’s Material Girl line. Iconix couldn’t immediately be reached while reps for Sony-ATV and G2 declined comment.

While Universal Music Group has shown interest, it has not submitted a bid at this point, according to sources.

Bankers for Core Media, which is backed by Apollo Global Management, are Raine Group. Entertainment lawyer John Branca, who looks after the estate of Michael Jackson, was also an advisor on the sale.

Apollo declined comment.
