Rapper with ties to 50 Cent’s G-Unit shot dead

A gunman opened fire on four people in an SUV in Springfield Gardens in Queens Friday afternoon, killing an associate of rapper 50 Cent’s G-Unit and wounding two other men and a woman, police sources said.

“Saddened by the news of Mazaradi’s tragic passing my thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends,” 50 Cent tweeted Friday evening about an hour after Jamal Green, 42 – aka Mazaradi Fox – was shot in the chest about 4:10 p.m. at Farmers Boulevard and 134th Avenue, cops said.

Green recorded songs with 50 Cent and appeared in many videos with members of G-Unit, according to fan web site “This is 50.”

A second man was struck in the neck and shoulder and was in critical condition, while the other victims were expected to survive, sources said.

Devon Powell said he was inside his home on 134th Avenue when he heard what he at first thought were fireworks.

“It was like bap, bap, bap, bap!” Powell said.

Powell said he looked outside and “saw a white dude bleeding in the car,” who then struggled to leave the Nissan SUV but collapsed.

Powell and another witness said they heard a burst of three or four shots, a pause, and then another burst of three or four shots.

All of the victims were taken to Jamaica Hospital. Their names and ages were not immediately available.

Police are searching for the shooter.
