Carmelo voted as All-Star starter for sixth straight time

One of the few bright spots in a bleak Knicks season will be headed to the Big Easy in three weeks.

Based on voting by the fans, The NBA announced their All-Star starters on Thursday, and Knicks small forward Carmelo Anthony will be starting his sixth consecutive All-Star Game. He will be flanked by the best players from the Eastern Conference’s two best teams — the Heat’s LeBron James and Paul George of the Pacers.

The other two Eastern Conference starters are Cleveland’s Kyrie Irving and Miami’s Dwyane Wade.

The Western Conference starting frontcourt will be Oklahoma City’s Kevin Durant, the Clippers’ Blake Griffin and Minnesota’s Kevin Love.

The top vote getters in the Western Conference backcourt are the Lakers’ Kobe Bryant — currently out with a knee injury — and Golden State’s Stephen Curry.

Four of the 10 starters surpassed a million votes — James, Durant, George, and Curry.
