‘Catfish’ creator hooks book deal

“Catfish” creator Nev Schulman has reeled in a book deal.

Schulman, who hosts the MTV show, has inked a deal with Grand Central Publishing for a book called “In Real Life,” which will be published next fall, according to deadline.com.

In the book he’ll “write about his continuing exploration of relationships in the digital age,” according to the report.

“Catfish” began life as a 2010 independent documentary exploring the issue of online dating — and was spun off into the successful MTV series, “Catfish: The TV Show,” which began airing in September 2012.

The show follows what happens when a person, called a “catfish” in Internet lingo, fools someone else by posting fake online biographical info in an attempt to get that person to fall in love with them.

It’s in its second season and has already been renewed for a third season on MTV.
