Gary Oldman back to TV with ‘Diabolic’ series

Big-screen actor Gary Oldman is headed to TV with a horror series called “The Diabolic,” deadline.com reports.

“The Dark Knight” star will produce the serialized drama about an exorcist who falls in love with a single mother — whose young son is possessed by an ancient diabolic entity that threatens the fate of mankind.

Oldman has teamed with Entertainment One Television to develop the show, which does not yet have a network attached. Daniel Kay (“Timber Falls”) is on board to write the pilot script, with Douglas Urbanski and Josh Weinstock also producing.

The series marks Oldman’s first time producing for television, though he previously produced several films, including 2000’s “The Contender,” in which he co-starred. His last TV role was a guest spot on “Friends” in 2001.
