Dita Von Teese sues over Sandy gigs

Hurricane Sandy did a number on Dita Von Teese’s burlesque gigs — and now, she wants her insurance carrier to pay.

The glamour-girl stripper has filed suit in Los Angeles Superior Court claiming that her insurers never told her they have a policy to cover performances cancelled by “acts of God’’ — so she never signed up for it.

Now, she’s out more than $100,000 over her cancelled “Burlesque: Strip Strip Hooray’’ performance at the Gramercy Theater in Manhattan last October, says the suit.

The sultry, 41-year-old, former Mrs. Marilyn Manson gripes that she also had to make up for a $50,000 advance for a Live Nation performance that was axed because of the wicked storm.

“While admittedly the lawsuit is about the financial losses the business suffered, there is a more important aspect to this lawsuit: We all depend upon insurance to protect us from accidents,’’ her rep told E! Online.

“We all make mistakes. [But] when a broker does not inform someone about coverage they need, and a catastrophe happens that results in a loss, then the broker should acknowledge its mistake, step up to the plate and make the client whole.’’

Teese, whose real name is Heather Sweet, said it was her insurer’s responsibility as an expert in the field to advise her of all her options.

She is suing for breach of fiduciary duty, breach of oral contract, negligence and misrepresentation.

Teese is bringing the show back to the Gramercy Theater this month.

The insurance company, Momentus Insurance Brokerage, declined comment.
