Pussy Riot coming to NYC

Pussy Riot is headed to New York.

The two members of the Russian activist punk band will appear at an Amnesty International concert at Barclays Center on Feb. 5, according to the human rights organization.

Nadezhda “Nadya” Tolokonnikova and Maria “Masha” Alekhina were freed from prison in December after a being locked up for 21 months for protesting Vladimir Putin’s government.

They Pussy Riot members are going to address fans at the show, which will have performances by acts like The Flaming Lips, Lauryn Hill and Tegan and Sara.

“A month ago, we were freed from Russian prison camps. We will never forget what it’s like to be in prison after a political conviction,” the punk rockers said in a joint statement. “We have vowed to continue helping those who remain behind bars and we hope to see you all . . . in Brooklyn!”
