‘Death’ comes to S.H.I.E.L.D.; and the ‘Glee’ks go to Brooklyn

Don’t be duped by these shows’ April Fools’ trickery:

“Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” (Tuesday, 8 p.m., ABC): No one will die. I mean, yes, they’ll die, as Skye (Chloe Bennet) did a few weeks ago, but nobody REALLY dies, thanks to that back-to-life serum — although, be sure to check those side-effect warnings. So if death is not an option, how high can the stakes be when they introduce us to Deathlok — which apparently is a big deal if you are a comic-book fan, but to Mama, J. August Richards’ turncoat mostly looks like he picked up a metallic vest from the Halloween remainder bin at the party store. Bill Paxton is back as the agent who can’t follow the rules to help Coulson (Clark Gregg) track down the evil Clairvoyant, who is apparently Deathlok’s new BFF and giving him orders to destroy the team.

“Glee” (Tuesday, 8 p.m., Fox): Little Lima, Ohio, gets the short shrift this week as every alum of New Directions abandons the town for New York since Principal Sue chose to disband the group after their second-place finish at Nationals. Blaine (Darren Criss) and Sam (Chord Overstreet) move into Kurt’s (Chris Colfer) unrealistically and hilariously spacious Brooklyn loft.

“NCIS” (Tuesday, 8 p.m., CBS): Don’t be fooled: This isn’t the conclusion of a two-part episode of NCIS. No, it’s CBS’ latest attempt to dominate your parents’ waking hours by forcing them to watch even more incarnations of the ratings powerhouse. Gibbs (Mark Harmon) and his team have spent their days in New Orleans helping to build the storyline for another NCIS spinoff, this one led by Scott Bakula in the Gibbs role, Lucas Black filling DiNozzo’s (Michael Weatherly) shoes and CCH Pounder taking the part of Ducky (David McCallum).

“Person of Interest” (Tuesday, 10 p.m., CBS): Class reunions are a classic way to build a budding TV romance (see “Glee,” above), so when Reese (Jim Caviezel) and Shaw (Sarah Shahi) must pose as alumni to keep their latest POI in their sites, don’t be surprised if the pair reveals more of their life stories to each other to accompany their regular witty banter. Nestor Carbonell escapes from the “Bates Motel” long enough to guest stars as the POI.
