‘Covert Affairs’ star has a new book on the way

“Covert Affairs” star Hill Harper, whose off-screen literary works have been featured in The Starr Report over the years, has another book about to hit the stores.

This one is called “Letters to an Incarcerated Brother: Encouragement, Hope, and Healing for Inmates and Their Loved Ones.”

Out Nov. 5, the book was inspired by inmates who’ve written to Harper seeking his guidance and advice. Many of those letters were sent to the actor following the publication of his “Letters to a Young Brother,” which was named Best Book for Young Adults by the American Library Association (it also won two NAACP awards). Harper, who founded Manifest Your Destiny — an outreach program for at-risk teens — also starred for nine seasons as Dr. Sheldon Hawkes on “CSI: New York.”

The season finale of “Covert Affairs,” in which Harper plays Calder Michaels, airs Nov. 21 on USA.
More books: Arthur Samuel Joseph, the creator of “Vocal Awareness” — he’s worked with Angelina Jolie, Pierce Brosnan and Emily and Zoey Deschanel, among others — has a new book out called “Vocal Leadership: 7 Minutes a Day to Communication Mastery” (McGraw-Hill). It’s official release date is this Friday, Oct. 11.
