Woman buying Girl Scout cookies using fake bills

LAKE ELSINORE, Calif. — Officials in Southern California say someone has been buying Girl Scout cookies with counterfeit cash.

The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department has released photos of a woman entering and leaving a grocery store who they say is a person of interest in the case of the phony dough. The photos show a young woman with long black hair, jeans, sneakers and a black hooded sweatshirt. No names or other identifying details have been released.

Police in Lake Elsinore learned last week that someone had bought Girl Scout cookies outside a grocery store with counterfeit currency, and were looking for a suspect who had not been seen since.
