Mmmm . . . doughnuts!
Hoards of New Yorkers yesterday were using the catchphrase made famous by Homer Simpson while chowing down on the same, pink-sprinkled doughnuts enjoyed in TV land by the lovable, pot-bellied dad and the cartoon’s Police Chief Wiggum.
As part of a gimmick to promote the upcoming “The Simpsons Movie,” a total of 11 7-Eleven stores nationwide – including one in Times Square – have temporarily morphed into the cult TV series’ convenience store, Kwik-E-Mart, and are peddling its goodies.
Streaming off the shelves at the city’s Kwik-E-Mart on 42nd Street between Eighth and Ninth avenues were such “Simpsons” faves as Bart’s beloved Buzz Cola, Krusty-O’s cereal and Squishees slushy drinks.
Other 7-Eleven stores in the area also will be selling some of the “Simpsons” fare.
The Times Square store will remain a Kwik-E-Mart until the end of the month, until just after the flick comes out on July 27.
