‘RUNWAY’ TO START LICENSING

Aspiring designers will soon be able to cut their creations from “Project Runway”-branded patterns and stitch them together using fabrics and sewing machines also carrying the hit TV show’s name.

Scheduled to begin airing its fourth season on Bravo, “Project Runway” has for the first time branched into licensing.

Products carrying the show’s name to be introduced this fall and in early 2008 will include jewelry by Aaron Co., sewing machines by Brother International, embellishments and embroidery by Prym Consumer, textiles by Robert Kaufman Fabrics and patterns by Simplicity Pattern Co.

Hosted by Tim Gunn, who is creative director of Liz Claiborne, “Project Runway” has developed a cult-like following.
