BX. COUPLE IN DEATH PLUMMET

Two young Bronx lovers plunged to their deaths from a six-story building early today after a night of partying, authorities and friends said.

Their bodies were found side by side in a courtyard, fingers nearly touching.

Melissa Lopez, 19, and Michael Rodriguez, 21, had dated for two years. Investigators said they couldn’t yet tell whether it was suicide or an accident.

“That’s my son! My only son!” Jackie Rodriguez screamed as Michael’s body was taken from behind 1221 White Plains Road.

“They were fine. He was happy . . . He didn’t jump . . . I know he didn’t.”

Michael, a graffiti “tagger” known as Jinx, and Melissa, a hospital clerk, spent some time at Club Mohegan and then at a friend’s apartment before leaving, alone, at 4:30 a.m., cops said.

“They were not the suicidal type,” insisted Shakia Ortiz, 20, who spent part of the night with them.

“It makes no sense,” added Ortiz’s brother, Michael. “We were all in a good mood . . . We weren’t too drunk.”
