Scooter rider injured in EMS crash

A man was critically injured last night in Brooklyn after an Emergency Medical Service chief racing to a call of a stabbing crashed into his moped, FDNY sources said yesterday.

The moped driver suffered serious head injuries in the crash at 51st Street and 7th Avenue in Sunset Park at 9:52 p.m. and was taken to Lutheran Hospital last night.

FDNY sources said that the chief, who stayed at the scene, had his lights and sirens on when he hit the scooter driver. He was responding to a stabbing at 40th Street and 12th Avenue in Borough Park.

Sources said the unidentified chief, who was hospitalized for trauma, told cops he didn’t see the other motorist before the crash.
