Slay-son dad’s pain

The cancer-stricken dad who helplessly watched a pair of thugs execute his son wishes he’d been the victim instead, especially since the disease will soon take his life anyway.

“He really feels like it should have been him, because he’s going to die soon anyway,” Carmine Antoniello, the victim’s brother, told The Post yesterday.

Thieves shot Carmine’s brother, Gerardo Antoniello, as he lay face down on the floor during a home-invasion robbery of his parents’ Ozone Park residence Wednesday.

Carmine said his mom was too upset to talk to a 911 operator, and called him instead. “She said my father and brother were hurt,” he said. “She was hysterical.”

Yesterday, the slain man’s other brother spoke out. “He was taken from us by two savages as he tried to protect his parents,” said Angelo Antoniello.
