A lesson in crying wolf

THE ISSUE: The false claims of rape by Hofstra student Danmell Ndonye.

I would like to personally thank Andrea Peyser for again pointing out that false allegations of this ilk create long-lasting harm to those falsely accused (“Twisted Rape-Lie Motive,” Andrea Peyser, Sept. 18).

Let us not forget that the act of rape/sexual assault is one of the few crimes in which the accused is effectively guilty until proven innocent.

Danmell Ndonye definitely has a problem, and the repercussions for her false accusations could be far reaching, but for Andrea Peyser to label her a “whore” is outrageous.

If the tables were turned and one man slept with five women, he would never have to worry about being labeled a whore or have to make false accusations to cover up such acts.

Something is wrong with society if a woman has to do such things.

The Hofstra “rape victim” not only demeans real rape victims, but she clearly proves that a man accused by a woman is always guilty until proven innocent.

Ndonye should change her name and move to Washington, DC, just like Tawana Brawley.

It is bizarre that superfeminist Peyser would defend the young men who had group sex with a student at Hofstra and even filmed it.

I hope that all of the parties involved, including the young woman, go for serious counseling and that Hofstra reexamines its rules for frat parties.

Somebody needs adult supervision.
