Talk about a Happy Meal.
Mr.-Universe-turned-action-star-turned-California-Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger snapped a cellphone picture of his bowl of oatmeal with a blueberry-raspberry-and-banana smiley face — and immediately posted it to his Twitter account for thousands of digital followers.
“This is how I start my day,” the 62-year-old celebrity pol boasted at 10:16 a.m. Friday.
A spokeswoman said it was the first time the Governator ever posted a breakfast meal — oatmeal, a carrot and celery juice, and a bowl of fruit — although he’s put up plenty of other shots of his daily doings.
And for the record, the suspicious-looking cigar-like object was merely a pen, she insisted.
“He has a bowl of oatmeal most mornings,” said spokesman Aaron McLear.
The shot was taken on the governor’s desk in Sacramento, he added.
“He really enjoys Twitter. He engages with that, and he likes his followers on Twitter to get an intimate look at behind the scenes,” McLear said.
As for the smiley face, McLear concedes, “His assistant did that.”
There was no agenda attached to the breakfast exposé, although “he’s been health conscious his entire life and continues to be and encourages others to be,” McLear said
The former bodybuilder has had his share of health setbacks: a heart-valve replacement in 1997, rotator-cuff surgery in 2003, a rapid heartbeat that sent him to the hospital in 2005 and a shattered femur during a skiing accident in December 2006.
