SUDDENLY, TLC is talking about the fact that “Jon & Kate Plus 8” has only “a limited number of episodes” left.
An announcement during this week’s episode appears to be the first admission by TLC that the end is near for the once-popular series and its battling stars (the show was recently renamed “Kate Plus 8“). “With only a limited number of episodes remaining,” a promo for next week’s show said, “Jon and Kate spend quality time with those who matter.”
No word on why TLC is warning viewers that the end is in sight — whether it is because husband Jon Gosselin has refused to let their kids go on camera and that could have shut down production permanently or the network is simply pulling out. The cable network has consistently refused to talk about the show’s future but has not been shy about using the couple’s well-documented marital troubles to hype the show.
