RIKERS: FOXY GOT NO FAVORS

The embattled city Correction Department said it’s getting a bad rap, insisting Foxy Brown got no special treatment on Rikers Island.

Correction spokesman Stephen Morello said yesterday that Brown’s 2008 jailhouse interview and photo shoot with a hip-hop magazine, her sporting Gucci sneakers and a Fendi scarf in the prison, and purported extended visits in her cell with a chaplain fell within normal guidelines.

He made the comments a day after The Post reported that Foxy lived a privileged life during her time in stripes, which ended in April 2008.

“Inmates were entitled to wear their own clothing. That’s her choice,” Morello said of Brown, who did nine months for a parole violation.

Regarding Brown’s interview with XXL magazine, Morello said, “The interviews were approved by the [Department of Correction’s] Department of Media Services. We do it as a matter of routine.”

He noted that The Post has conducted many interviews in city jails and that Brown’s lasted for about one hour, which is standard procedure.
