Bus crash in Atlantic City leaves 24 injured

A Chinatown passenger bus from New York City headed to the Tropicana Casino in Atlantic City, N.J., crashed with two cars Thursday, leaving at least 24 injured, two in critical condition.

The accident took place on West End Avenue in Atlantic City and left the bus turned on its side, though the fire department was able to right it.

“We stopped the fluids and got the engine shut off,” Fire Chief Dennis Brooks told the Press of Atlantic City. “We have it under control at this point.”

A gold car was badly damaged and injured persons were being taken from a white minivan that was involved in the collision as well.

Multiple people were being taken in wheelchairs to waiting ambulances.

It is unclear what caused the accident.

The bus is owned by Sun Lee Bus Co. out of Brooklyn, New York and was carrying passengers from Chinatown, Love said.
