‘Burlesque’ star Christina Aguilera opens up about her divorce: report

Christina Aguilera opened up about her “unhealthy and unhappy” marriage to music executive Jordan Bratman in an interview published Thursday by People magazine.

“Things were so unhealthy and unhappy for both Jordan and me, I knew I had to end it,” the “Burlesque” actress told the celebrity magazine.

“I really didn’t want to hurt Jordan, and I felt torn about splitting our family up,” the 29-year-old singer added.

After five years of marriage to Bratman, 33, the former “Mickey Mouse Club” star said she filed for divorce in October in the interests of their two-year-old son Max.

“When you’re unhappy in your marriage, your children are the ones who suffer. That’s the last thing I wanted for my son,” the Grammy Award-winning singer added.

Since her split, Aguilera has been linked to Matthew Rutler, a set assistant she met while filming “Burlesque.”

“He’s the kind of person you could spend hours with on the phone talking to and all of a sudden it’s daylight,” she gushed about the new man in her life.
