School bus hits girl, 7, in Queens

A bright and energetic 7-year-old girl was struck by a school bus in Queens yesterday after she ran into the street as she ran from a puppy, cops said.

Destiny Louigene was hit at about 4 p.m. at 258th Street and Craft Avenue in Rosedale.

Horrified witnesses said the dog, a Labrador-terrier mix owned by a neighbor, got off its leash and was playfully chasing a group of kids when Destiny, who may have been frightened of the dog, darted into the street.

“She was beat up pretty bad,” said a witness, Chastity Garcia. “She was coming in and out of consciousness.”

Her dad, Bertgil Louigene, arrived on the scene as his daughter was being put into the ambulance.

Destiny was rushed to Long Island Jewish Hospital, where she was listed in stable condition last night.

“I would tell her to open her eyes and she would open them and look at me and know I was there,” her dad told The Post at the hospital.

“I feel lost, and can’t believe this happened to my little girl.”
