Nurse’s ‘virgin’ lawsuit

The office gossip was out of control.

Doctors and even secretaries at NYU Langone Medical Center were so convinced that longtime pediatric nurse Kristen Haight was a 41-year-old virgin, they repeatedly urged her to hop in the sack, she claims in a $45 million lawsuit claiming her medical records weren’t protected.

She alleges that pediatric neurosurgeon Dr. Jeffrey Wisoff repeatedly referenced “The 40-Year-Old Virgin” movie, and reassured her that sex is “like petting something furry for the first time.”

Interest in Haight’s love life — or lack thereof — peaked in 2007 when the Manhattan woman began having health concerns, including endometriosis, a painful condition where uterine cells grow outside a woman’s uterus.

Fearing her illness would become fodder for the office rumor mill, Haight begged staffers at NYU to keep her medical records private — but claims they failed to protect her from the prying eyes of office gossips.

After Haight had surgery, even the secretaries knew the details of her condition, and wanted to see a bun in her oven.

Supervisors allegedly ordered her to take sick leave, and eventually fired her, she claims.
