‘The truth about love? Most of us are chasing that first orgasm again,” the famous actress told me emphatically the other day, while I tried to not fall off the chair.

No, I wasn’t talking to a D-cup starlet on the cusp of fame who was being outrageous because she was told to be.

This was an actress who has lived the last nearly 84 years by her own rules.

Welcome to the fantastically funny and fabulous world of “The
Young & The Restless” star Jeanne Cooper, whose upcoming memoir, “Not Young, Still Restless,” (IT!, division of Harper Collins), a rollicking, sometimes sobering retelling of her life that will drop at the end of the month.

Cooper has been with “Y&R” for nearly 39 years (I know, take that in for a moment) playing the quintessential soap character, Katherine Chancellor.

Cooper’s “Y&R”alter-ego Katherine has been an alcoholic, had a face-lift (on TV), had affairs, been up, been down and been nearly destroyed emotionally by her cheating ex-husband.

Real-life Cooper, on the other hand, turned into an alcoholic after Katherine had already gone through rehab, had a face-lift on TV, been up, been down and nearly destroyed emotionally by her cheating ex-husband.

Two things Katherine Chancellor never did, however, that Cooper most certainly did (in 1954, yet) was to have her first child, actor Corbin Bernsen, before deciding to marry his father.

The second thing she did that Katherine certainly never did was have an affair with her own “son” — meaning her TV son, Beau Kazer (a k a Brock Reynolds)!

Cooper said the affair with Kazer, who was 21 years younger, began after a devastating divorce from her cheating husband which blind-sided her like a sucker punch from a heavyweight.

“Well,” she began, no hint of regret in her voice, “he brought one of the kindest, most grounded, kinds of simplicity to life. He was a great conversationalist, a poetic kind of person. And you know what? He delivers lines better than anyone I’ve ever known!

“We had dinner one night,” she said, “and then, it went further.

“He made the first move. But the age difference was not for me. He kept saying he had no problem with it and that age meant nothing to him.”

So? “So, he married someone else.” She paused for effect. “His new wife? She was 30 years older than he was!”

Kazer still plays his role as her son on “Y&R” from time to time.

Still attracted to the guy? She giggled, “I still can’t say ‘hi’ to him without, well, you know.”

Yes, I do.

That brought my dirty little mind back to orgasms. “Are you still chasing that first orgasm yourself?” I asked.

Cooper laughed out loud, “Oh, honey,” she cracked. “I trampled that to death a long time ago!”
