PENN NATIONAL CONTEST IS OFF TO FLYING START

GRANTVILLE, Pa. – After the first night of competition at the World Series of Handicapping at Penn National, Roger Siple of York, Pa., had the lead with $3,225.

Going into last night’s action, Paul Pope of Baltimore was second with $2,604. Bill Finley of New Jersey was third with $2,399. Nick Noce of Rochester, N.Y., was fourth with $2,011 and Justin Hayward of Breinigsville, Pa., was fifth with $1,954. Yours truly was 21st with $1,288.

The contest began with 150 contestants having a bankroll of $1,000. Already eight contestants have been eliminated.
