This week’s couple: Worth the wait

CHLOE, 23, arrived an hour early for her date, unaware Ricardo, 28, was already there, waiting for her as well. So at the bar of the Brazilian East Village eatery Esperanto, the two daters sat with only a bar stool between them for an hour before they realized they were each other’s match. But for just one date or many more?

He said:

I showed up an hour early and I noticed a pretty girl at the bar who looked like my favorite model, Kelly Brook. After a few minutes, the girl asked, “Are you Ricardo?” I thought, “Sorry girl, I’m waiting for my date to show up.” Then I realized it was Chloe!

I totally felt a warm vibe from her. We talked about our similarities and traveling. She is a very passionate person and we had lots to talk about.

The restaurant was great with amazing service. Chloe was great; the best date I ever had. Everything she had to say was interesting and moving. I would definitely be into seeing her again.

I arrived at Esperanto early. The guy next to me wanted to talk but I worried about making an obnoxious first impression if Ricardo arrived and I was being chatted up by someone else. Turns out Ricardo was two bar stools down the whole time!

He was handsome and told me I looked like a model named Kelly Brook. I was caught off-guard when he called attention to being shorter than me, but I was impressed he was confident enough to address it.

Since he is Brazilian, Ricardo made recommendations, which definitely enhanced the experience, and the live music was pretty sexy. He was charming with a lot of stories to tell.

Ricard and I had a lot of fun. I’m not sure if we’ll go out again, but I had a great time, and I’ll definitely go back to Esperanto.
