Matthew Badger tells Katie Couric he wanted to kill self to follow girls ‘wherever they went’

Heartbroken dad Matthew Badger wanted to kill himself — so he could follow his daughters “wherever they went” — after the little girls died in a horrific Christmas fire, the grieving pop said.

Daughters Lily, 10, and twins Sarah and Grace, 7, perished a little more than a year ago in when their Connecticut home went up in flames.

“I wanted to go and be a parent to my girls wherever they went,” he told Katie Couric yesterday. “I want to talk about the extreme emotion — you’re suicidal, you’re rageful, you just want to vanish.”

Badger said the urge for a parent to commit suicide, after tragically losing kids, is “absolutely natural”

“I kept thinking, this is a nightmare,” he said. “When you are in this state, you want to kill yourself, it’s absolutely natural. If your child dies on you, there is a feeling you want to go and parent them.”

The blaze also killed the girls’ grandparents Lomer Johnson and Pauline Johnson.

Mom Madonna Badger and boyfriend Michael Borcina survived the inferno, originally believed to be ignited by disposed embers from the fire place.

Madonna Badger has since hinted she believes an electrical malfunction might have sparked the deadly blaze.

Remains of the burned-down frame have since been bulldozed.

The emotional dad choked back tears and refused to blame his ex-wife for the tragedy.

“Those girls, our girls, loved her,” he said. “I will honor my girls and that is what I’m doing with my life right now. Standing up for my girls and making their lives matter. I will never say anything bad about Madonna.”
