Doctor’s daughter busted in investment scheme

The daughter of a prominent Long Island cardiologist was busted for allegedly bilking two men — including a platinum-selling hip-hop producer — out of millions of dollars through a bogus investment scheme, The Post has learned.

Ishita Ganguly, daughter of Port Jefferson Dr. Jyoti Ganguly, used the cash to buy hundreds of thousands of dollars in jewelry from Manhattan boutiques and a $2 million waterfront mansion on Staten Island, a Manhattan federal-court complaint alleges.

Ishita Ganguly, ex-wife of hair-care mogul Jim Morrison, allegedly convinced the men they’d clear wild profits with her scheme and had them sign over more than $1 million each.

The men — Miami producer Kevin Rudolf and retired Michigan businessman James Campbell — have filed a civil suit against her in Brooklyn federal court.

Beginning in April 2012, Ganguly presented herself to associates as a principal in an investment firm called Astute Partners and offered them “no-risk” opportunities, court papers say.

She allegedly told Rudolf — who has worked with Justin Timberlake and Lil Wayne — his $1 million would be used only as collateral for investments.

She allegedly claimed the two men would see returns of $10 million in 21 days.

The IRS found she transferred the money to her accounts, the complaint says.

From April to May 2012, she used $300,000 to buy jewelry in Manhattan, court papers say. In August 2012, she used the funds to pay for most of her Staten Island digs, the complaint says.

Ganguly was arrested at the mansion last month and is out on $300,000 bail.

“She always needs to live the good life,” a relative said. “But she never wanted to work for it . . . It’s sad.”

Her lawyer, Thomas Tormey, didn’t return a call. A woman at the home said she didn’t want to speak.
