Bar brothers

Sibling rivalry will take a national stage in New Orleans today as brothers John and Jim Harbaugh’s respective football teams, the Baltimore Ravens and the San Francisco 49ers, face off at the 47th Super Bowl. But back here in New York City, brother-owned bars and restaurants will also get their moment in the spotlight.

Find out where to cheer on your favorite team.

Third and Long

The brothers: Jim Long, 45 and Matt Long, 46

Choose from 18 draft suds at this boisterous Murray Hill mainstay, founded in 1991 by Brooklyn natives Matt and Jim Long. Pile your plate high with a free halftime buffet, which will include penne alla vodka. Although the brothers own the bar, running it is a family effort, explains Jim (above, near left): “I’m one of nine [kids]. They’ve all worked [here] at one point.”

The brothers: Sheldon and Sherwin Robinson, 35

Park Avenue Tavern

The brothers: Terence Tubridy, 32, and Dan Tubridy, 36

The pair plans to hit a different bar they own — they have the Lower East Side’s Libation and the Midtown East gastropub Park Avenue Tavern — for each quarter of the big game. “Terence and I have had a bet on the coin toss since 2002,” explains Dan (above, left). “It’s 6 to 4 — he’s beating me. I [want] tails coming in this year!”
