This week’s couple: Tea party

DINNER dates are never a bad idea, but is this the only meal of the day when two people can get to know each other? We don’t think so, which is why we had Marie, 31, meet up with Lance, 29, for brunch at the modish David Burke Kitchen in SoHo. Did an afternoon get-together give them reason to make some future evening reservations?

He said:

I was really happy when I first met Marie. She was pretty with an upbeat personality. Totally a win in my book.

I couldn’t believe this blind date went so well. We had so much in common: the music we listen to, working out and eating healthy. We’re even into a lot of the same books!

The service at David Burke Kitchen rocked. We shared the salmon. Marie likes green tea, and so do I, so we had four pots of it. It was like getting wasted but on caffeine.

Marie is fun, attractive and just super cool. We walked to the train and hugged goodbye, exchanged numbers and are planning to meet next week! I’m pretty pumped!

She said:

I arrived 15 minutes early to David Burke Kitchen; Lance arrived five minutes early. I was glad to see punctuality is important to both of us.

Lance was taller than I expected, had a nice smile, and a unique personality. We hit it off and peoplewatched a lot. We noticed one couple barely talking, unlike us, who were having a blast.

We shared the truffle scrambled eggs with caviar in the eggshell, pretzel crab cakes, salmon and lots of green tea. Lance said, “I’m getting you green-tea hammered!”

Lance and I couldn’t stop talking. We were in the restaurant for three hours. Numbers were exchanged and on his phone, my name is “Marie-Fun Times.” We will hang out next weekend.
