One of the cruel ironies of modern medicine is that the very procedures that save our lives are sometimes the most horribly awkward to endure.
Take mammograms, for example. Life saving, for sure. But also awkward and invasive for many women.
So it’s about time social media stepped up to the plate to obliterate the discomfort and make mammograms cool.
#mamming is sweeping Instagram and Twitter right now.
Simply take your breasts and rest them on an inanimate object, just like you would if you went to the doctor for a breast screen. Then take a photo and whack on a #mamming.
It’s the passion project of two US advertising creatives, one of whom is a breast cancer survivor. According to the #mamming website, the project aims to embrace “the awkwardness of mammograms”.
