COLLEGE: Irish to stay in Big East one more year

Notre Dame will stay in the Big East for at least one more season. Athletic director Jack Swarbrick said the university would like to leave the Big East for the ACC before the required 27 months’ notice for departing members, but was unable to reach an agreement to do so before next season.

NFL: Gregg Williams reinstated, hired by Titans

Gregg Williams was reinstated back to the NFL by commissioner Roger Goodell, and was hired by the Titans as a senior defensive assistant. Williams was suspended last season after accepting responsibility for his role in the Saints’ bounty program.
