Teen who allegedly threw 9yo neighbor from roof indicted; victim still in coma

The teen accused of viciously tossing his 9 year old neighbor off the roof of a Bronx apartment building was indicted on attempted murder and assault charges, the Bronx DA’s office said.

A handcuffed Casmine Aska, 17, appeared dazed during a brief hearing at Bronx Criminal Court.

His mother refused to comment afterwards — or explain why her son allegedly hauled little Freddy Martin from his third-floor apartment, dragged him to the roof and flung him off the Nelson Avenue apartment building in Morris Heights.

Though severely injured, Freddy briefly regained consciousness and identified Aska as his attacker, poice said. Freddy suffered numerous broken bones and remains in a medically induced coma at New York-Presbyterian Hospital.

The indictment crowns the thug’s budding criminal career which includes robbery, aggravated harassment and menacing. His lawyer refused to comment.

Aska faces up to 25 years to life in prison if found guilty and remains behind bars without bail. He is expected back in court March 6.
