Beer & mug shot on Lower E. Side

Posting their mug shots in bars could spark a last call for crooks, cops say.

NYPD Sgt. Brian Frederickson, who patrols the Lower East Side, is passing out fliers bearing thieves’ photos to local nightclub owners after a spike in bar-related thefts in the neighborhood.

“Nobody should have to come out here to be a victim. You want to come out and have good time,” Frederickson said.

Frederickson told bar owners at a recent meeting that they should familiarize staffers with the photos so those workers can spot thieves.

Grand larceny spiked 14.8 percent in the 7th Precinct, which includes the Lower East Side, in the past year, police sources say.
