Surprise! ‘InAPPropriate Comedy’ is brutally unfunny

How low can she go? A dazed-looking Lindsay Lohan follows her recent terrible performance as Elizabeth Taylor by playing “herself’’ — doing a bad impression of Marilyn Monroe — in an inept, brutally unfunny collection of sketches titled “InAPPropriate comedy.’’

Lohan has perhaps 90 seconds of footage bookending this piece of dreck, shakily shooting at paparazzi who pounce when her skirt is blown upward by a draft from a subway grate (while she’s wearing an electronic ankle bracelet).

I would have preferred if she had used a loaded gun on the alleged director, comedian Vince Offer, better known for his “ShamWow!’’ TV commercials than his previous film, 1999’s “The Underground Comedy Movie’’ (he is briefly seen videotaping Lohan, or more likely her double, upskirt using an iPad).

Offer’s earlier film had no stars, but for “InAPPropriate comedy’’ he somehow recruited Adrien Brody to play a gay police detective named “Flirty Harry” in pink capris and sandals.

Brody flings around a lot of tired double-entendres (“Go, ahead, bust my ass’’) in a handful of sketches (all are supposedly iPad apps) running maybe a minute apiece. But he’s spared the extreme degree of humiliation achieved by fellow Oscar winners Halle Berry and Kate Winslet in the recent “Movie 43.’’

Brody and Lohan actually hit the (very low) high points of this mess, which includes a couple of merely dopey segments featuring Rob Schneider and Michelle Rodriguez as porn reviewers checking out a badly dubbed Japanese epic called “Sushi Mama’’ and the all-male “Sperm Lake.’’

At least they’re over quickly — unlike the interminable mock episodes of a reality show called “The Amazing Racist.’’ The host (Ari Shaffir) insults Asian driving students, tries to get Jews to sign petitions apologizing for “killing Jesus’’ and attempts to entice black people to get on a “one-way’’ boat trip to Africa with watermelons, fried chicken and malt liquor.

These segment are almost tasteful compared to the ones featuring stereotypical gangbangers. One gag introduces an entrepreneur with a wire hanger in an abortion clinic, while another involves a mouse and a cheese-coated penis. Perhaps more to the point, the gangbangers end up in a vat of sewage.

Speaking of sewage, Lohan actually has less footage in “InAPPropriate Comedy’’ than in the trailer for “Scary Movie 5,’’ another terrible-looking sketch comedy that arrives in two weeks. She has at least one scene with Charlie Sheen in that one. God help us.
