Jets open preseason vs. Lions, rival Bush

The Jets will open their preseason against old friend Reggie Bush with a trip to Detroit to face the Lions.

That will be the only time in the preseason the Jets have to actually travel. They face the Jaguars at home in preseason Week 2, have a “road” game at the Giants in Week 3 and will be at home against the Eagles to finish up the preseason.

The Jets have faced Bush several times as a member of the Dolphins. Bush left Miami as a free agent last month to join the Lions. Last season, there was some bad blood between Bush and the Jets after he was injured in a game and felt the Jets had targeted him because of coach Rex Ryan’s comments.

The third preseason game, which is the one that starters generally play the longest in, will be with the crosstown rival Giants.

The actual dates of all the games have not been set yet. Week 1 will be between Aug. 8-11, Week 2 will be between Aug. 15-19 and Week 3 will be between Aug. 22-25. The game with the Eagles is scheduled for Aug. 29.
